COCKATOO...
A few weeks back Robyn Bright kindly purchased the Niceville album. I popped some money in the CD case for her band Cockatoo's mini-album "The Basement Tapes" and a button badge.
Well the Postie Hedgehog hammered on the door about an hour ago with a large packet containing TWO copies of Robyn's album and not a badge but a quite beautiful T Shirt!!
I am having a bit of difficulty expressing just how good the music on the album is.
Everything that used to be good about alternative music is here. Intelligent beats and basslines, pure 12 string guitar, the most soaring vocals and clever lyrics from Robyn that actually MEAN things!
The amazing version of my favourite Cockatoo song, White Picket Fence, is easily worth the price of admission alone.
They deserve to be absolutely huge, but they're probably too good...
